Systems Engineering and Design

Focused on the architectural and human-centric pillars of engineering, SEOR's systems engineering and design research investigates systems architecture, requirements engineering, and human factors.

Research in this area addresses the security, integration, and lifecycle management of systems that unify physical processes with networked computation. This research also addresses the security, integration, and management of systems that unify physical processes with networked computation. Faculty advance the state of the art in development of smart cities, securing critical infrastructure against evolving cyber threats, engineering education, ensuring design processes are both innovative and pedagogically sound.

Faculty also explore system design, testing, and optimization while fostering innovation and entrepreneurship, with a specialized focus on systems architecture and the development of smart, integrated systems that support next-generation engineering practice.
