The Manufacturing Team
was busily working on rolling out the units for the first shipment. The first 50 units
were to be sent directly to the Testing Lab for  Stewart's
and Gramma's  analysis. They had incorporated the changes
in the cartridge housing as specified by Crazy Electronics' request. Little did they know
that the Design Team did not implement these changes on their current plans. As they approached their 20,000th unit, Obviously, their Configuration Management techniques were lacking, and this mishap was going to cost them a great deal of money. Had they allowed for intercommunication between teams, and followed the proper Systems Engineering Methods, these problems would not have occurred. Later that month, The Mad Professor Had the Manufacturing Team exercised Quality Control methods, Dr. Madd's error would have been corrected. Read on to see what happened to Gramma ! |
Smiley Jackson received a terrible call from Gramma. The cartridge didn't fit in the unit! Apparently, Crazy Electronics had made another
change in how they wanted the cartridge to look. Well, they let Ugh know, and Ugh told
Pedro, but they forgot to tell Smiley about it. Since Smiley was in charge of setting the
parameters for the tooling on the assembly line, the cartridge spec was never changed.
was implementing the Voltage regulators on the head set. The 'Mad One'
was a nervous fellow, always shaking and rattling around. He was especially, and rather
disturbingly, fond of Cappuccino. On this particular day, he had a few too many Capps',
and was in rare form to say the least. He was making final adjustments to the voltage
parameters at his workstation. It was overlooked that his shaky finger entered a few
extra zeros for the voltage parameter that determined the intensity of the light in
the headset.
